This season it appears not, accent eyes, natural looks, and dewy skin all seem on the agenda for this years a/w beauty looks. This disappoints me MASSIVELY, (not that I will be closely following trend gurl). I love dark lipstick, I think it makes contouring appear stronger, eyebrows more poignant and general complexion more flawless -  a lot of people can agree that darker lips gives the illusion smaller lips - but who would notice a little overdrawn lip these days. (ahem, Kylie Jenner, ahem)
I'm practising a few looks on a friend this weekend, I'm aiming to put together a small portfolio for my next venture, despite doing a degree in fashion promotion, my interests as of late lie with makeup and cosmetics. Ive participated in a few photo shoots throughout my time at uni and I just love getting creative with colours and different medium. Heres me just playing around with monochrome accent makeup in photoshop - credit to Pinterest for the photos :)

Cant get enough of these remixed classics by Listen City. As much as giving into the current house music trend pains me a little, I can't deny I love putting on a long playlist to chill out/get ready to in the mornings, my go to channels on Youtube include 'The Sound You Need', 'La Belle Musique' & 'Deep Mix Nation'

So long story short, I made a 'fashion blog' around 3 years go. this is it. AKA, if you go back a few pages, you will see badly lit photographs of me trying to fashionable and arty in my bedroom. why. DONT GO BACK A FEW PAGES, I BEG.
I set up another blog to replace this one, not much time or effort went into it so I literally copy and pasted the posts I did do onto, here {see below}. I couldn't quite work out how to follow people or gain followers on my newer blog - so as per, I promptly gave up. So, here is my old blog, with a *fresh* 22 year old publisher. (That tends to blog when either insanely bored, sad, or inspired - most of the time I'm at a happy medium of happy and content, therefore, I don't make the time for blogging. However when I do, this is where photos, rambles and general shit about my life will be.)

The photo on the side is an updated version of me, I very rarely look like this due to the amount of time and effort that went into my 'perfect' winged eyeliner and delicately placed lipstick and of course my freshly washed sweepy hair - on a normal day you'll spot me with my hair tied back into a bun, a pathetic excuse at a made up face - using lipstick as my signature and saviour to a 5 minute makeup rush I encounter most mornings. I am Madi, not a glam fashion blogger that everyone aspires to - this is just my space for shit I want to share, mainly for memories, I find in the past I've spent so long *thinking* about a blog and what it will look like etc, what people will think and if its 'pretty' enough, however Ive realised, maybe the atheistic part will come with time, for now, HI THERE.

Its safe to say, purple is my favourite colour in the entire world, bar white & black.
I've been meaning to do this post for months, I wear lipstick pretty much 6/7 days a week, I think lipstick instantly adds a glow to the face like nothing else does, for me it compliments my skin tone, makes me look more awake, and generally makes me feel more attractive. (How strange, just a stick of colour that you rub over your lips makes you feel better...).
I thought i'd let you gander at my favourite purple lipsticks that I usually have rolling around in my makeup bag or day bag (most of my friends know that when asking me to borrow a lipstick, I have the most variety of colours - to hand, at all times).
My mum thinks all my lipsticks look the same, just like I think her collection of dusky pinks do, but we all have crazy obsessive collections.. right?!
Please do excuse my photography skills, I couldn't be bothered to wait for my camera to charge so I used my iphone! I think its kind of over cast lighting today hence why they haven't come out great. I haven't necissarily put them in a certain order but yeah!

01. Kate Moss, No 04
I call this my "fuckoffdon'ttouchme" lipstick, I wear it a lot, (more so in winter), on nights out. Usually mainly because it adds a darker/gothic look to any outfit, but also because while within the clubs of the UK, there are gross, smelly boys. Gross & smelly boys who want to look and touch, I wear this in the hope to scare them off. It usually works. (Thanks Kate)
02. Rimmel, Dark Night Waterl-oops!
This is probably the lipstick I wear least out of my purple collection, not really for any particular reason.. Its a beautiful deep purple with a very moisturising and 'shiny' finish. The only downfall to this lipstick is that it doesn't last long, and transfers to other parts of your body, or someone else's (ayy ;)), very easily. It doesn't stay put too well is what I'm trying to say.

03. Rimmel, Starry Eyed

This is my oldest purple lipstick. An old friend from my first experiences at uni used to wear this on a daily basis (hey Rosie girl!), I was intrigued to wear a dark lip like she did so followed her lead - infact, she was probably the reason I was brave enough to try it and love wearing dark shades so much now! This has a pretty normal lipstick-y finish, if that makes sense, not particularly moisterizing, but not matte in any sense of the word. Its more of a deep reddy purple tone.
04. Mac, Heroine
My ABSOLUTE favourite lipstick ever, I bought this unexpectedly because I could get a lipstick for £5 rather than £15 when I once purchased some of my prolong concealer, so obviously - how could I say no. This lipstick is a very vibrant, matte finish, electric purple shade - I. love. it. The best thing about this lipstick is it lasts all day without a topup, It even fades to a pleasant hot pink when the top layer has come away. (Only downfall to this is waking up with bright pink lips the next day, despite washing your face the night before).
05. Mac, Up The Amp
Another bargain you could say - When you take 6 empties to Mac you get a free lipstick! I've known about this little goodwill exchange from Mac for around 3 years now so have been taking advantage ever since, I asked my friend who works in Mac which kind of purple he thinks would suit me the best, he came up with this one - Its a lovely sheen finish with a soft purple pigment running through it. It's not the best for staying on the lips and needs topping up a lot - Its a great summer version for a purple lip.
The photos I have of me in the lipsticks, admittedly aren't the greatest, however theyre just a few I have on my Instagram that I thought show the colours best :) Whats your favourite colour lipstick?
Thanks for reading :) xoxo

The other day, I spent a good chunk of money in Ikea, literally just on bedding.. however this did include a new duvet, duvet set, mattress protector and bottom sheet. I sometimes actually ENJOY spending money on things for my room.. at the moment its all I have when it comes to unleashing my inner interior decorator; As in, I don't have a house quite yet. I've been spending night after night over the past few just scrolling through Pinterest (of course), at all the beautiful and quite frankly freaking amazing interior decor. Some houses out there are quite literally insane. If I had all the budget and of course time, in the world, I'm sure my house (bedroom) would look splendid! After gathering together a few pins on my 'Interior' board, and thinking about how I'd decorate my kitchen and office space (how middle aged of me.)
I thought I'd share some of my inspirations with ya'lllll :)
When it comes to interiors, especially in this day and age, I don't think anything can be TOO white, clean or open. However sometimes to me that seems a bit cold, I've never ever been the type to keep everything in order or have a tidy bedroom 24/7, I like the mess at times, it makes me feel at home. My favourite combination ever is white against bright colours, or white against dark colours. I think it looks polished and fresh, and no matter how messy the room is I'm pretty sure if you've got the decor right, it could be hard to tell that YES that throw is meant to be thrown on the bed, out of place and un-folded... god.

As I was saying, an ORGANISED MESS, is the adjectives I think I'm looking for. I'm definitely going to have one of those houses that looks as though its trying to be all modern and chic but there will be random pictures and postcards all over the fridge, a wonky carpet in the hallway and more than likely coats, jackets (& clothes) effortlessly draped over ever chair/sofa. Guilty. I want a house that looks lived in, but also looks awesome; Warm, cosy, creative, clean, messy. In a nutshell.

Cool things about the above pictures:
The elephant head! Creepy but 'arty' ;)
The chalk board wall, in my kitchen? YES.
The memory wall of pictures and quotes. love.
The two pictures second before last, I would very much happily mimic everything in both; the colours, textures, details of the bedroom and the organised clutter in the living room.
The lights are SO COOL, where do I get them? How do I make them?
The wall paper in the bathroom, I'm all for a statement wall and this seems pretty mouth watering to me. It makes me feel a bit sick but also makes me dribble at the same time. I'm thinking disgusting 80s decor meets sour starbusts..

So yeah! I can and can't wait to have my own house to decorate, I think it would be as stressful as it would be fun, this is mainly because I'm SO INDECISIVE and would spend ages just choosing what the taps would look like in a new bathroom let alone a whole room!
